Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity and for this reason Jesus commands the Apostles to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In the Book of the Acts of the Apostles we are told the experience of Pentecost, the fulfillment of the promise of Jesus who had promised to send the Holy Spirit. They are all gathered in prayer and they all receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God who with his power recreates, blesses, illuminates, renews, sanctifies, consoles, gives peace, gives meaning to life, awakens the desire to live and love God and neighbor, encourages us to proclaim the Word of God, builds the Church, restores joy, makes Jesus' witnesses courageous, instructs in the truth, allows us to see what we need to improve, guides and directs towards good and reveals God's secrets. Let us ask the Holy Spirit on this day to fill us with his gifts: Wisdom, strength, advice, mercy, understanding, science and love towards Him to do Justice. By receiving his gifts we will experience his fruits: charity, peace, generosity, kindness, faith, self-control, joy, patience, goodness, meekness, humility, chastity. Let us be builders of the Church, saying to the Lord: send your Spirit, Lord, and renew the face of the earth.
