O beloved St. Clare, you followed in the footsteps of the Virgin Mary and became a mother in the Mystical Body of Christ. Give us your love for the Church and for all our brothers and sisters. You, who in your last words blessed the Lord for having created you, obtain for us the grace to comprehend what a precious gift life is.
Intercede for our families that they may live in peaceful accord, serene and zealous in their labours and in the joy of being together.
Bring us one day into your presence so that with you, we may praise and sing eternally the mercies of the Lord. Amen.

St. Clare of Assisi was born in 1193. Collaborating with St. Francis, she founded an enclosed Order of Sisters, known today as the Poor Clares, at the Church of St. Damian. She died there in 1253.
